Meg and Mike's Lake Tahoe wedding was a celebration of love, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The couple chose to tie the knot in the gorgeous lakeside setting at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach, CA. It was a truly magical day filled with joy, happiness, and their adorable dog Cali stealing our hearts.
How did you meet your spouse?
We met in college at Purdue University. We locked eyes at a bar and he text me the text day asking to take me to dinner. The rest is history
How did they pop the question?
The worst/ best proposal ever! This was the second attempt. The plan was to join our family for dinner in Fresno. Followed by going to the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert while Mik's family prepared for the proposal. After the concert we would go look at Christmas lights where Mike would finally pop the question at a neighborhood park that his family had decorated. Here's what really happened. Work got in the way so we were both late for dinner. After dinner we drove to the concert venue but we didn't get the memo and the concert was canceled because a member of the orchestra got COVID. Mike panicied and the two of us drove straight to where the Christmas lights were. The neighborhood that usually had an incredible display had not yet been fully decorated as it was to early in the season. Mike's family didn't have enough time to prepare for the proposal. Mike being tired of waiting popped the question in a pich dark park in the neighborhood with "nobody" around. I said yes, then heard clapping. We looked over confused to see there was a homeless man sitting on a park bench congratulating us on the engagement. The family finally showed up and came to the rescue with some bottles of champagne.
What is your wedding style?
We went for a simple modern yet elegant wedding design.
What was the best part of your day?
Having our dog as part of it! She was just as important as all the people on our guest list and she definitely melted our hearts. If you're looking for a dog friendly Lake Tahoe wedding venue the North Tahoe Event Center is a great choice.
